Magpies fall to islanders

Bobedern score 3

Following Adam Walters head injury the match before, Stuart Pilling stepped up to go in goal, the club stalwart he was also gifted the captains armband by Manager Carl Ryan. Stuart was not the only change as Jono Harrison stepped in to what was a makeshift defence, also missing Stephen Bratt.

The game got underway with a strong wind gusting across the pitch in Barmouth’s favour. The first half had no real consistency by either team, with both teams failing to but the opponents goal keeper under pressure. the half came to an end with the score 0-0.

It total contrast the second half got underway like a completely different game. Bodedern looked more effective with the wind behind them and it was the home side that would go a goal up just 60 seconds into the half, Adrian Clark putting them in front. Barmouth fought hard but the home side got their second on the hour as Steven Whittaker with a head goal. Thing would go from bad to worse for the Magpies, with 15 minuets to go a misunderstanding between Jono Harrison and Stuart Pilling resulted in the defender heading the ball past the keeper into the goal. Throughout the whole team never gave up and were unlucky not to get anything out of the game. Late on Bodedern’s Captain would receive a straight red card after he lashed out at Paul Lewis.

The game ended with Barmouth going down 3-0 in a game they looked the better side.

Jake Jones would receive Fans Man of the Match for his performance. Always looking to drive the ball forward and never afraid to put a foot in, the youngster was in the middle of every move.
