It’s with regret that the club have to announce the passing of another club stalwart. After a short illness on Saturday evening Max Heron passed away peacefully at home with his family.
Max will be remembered for his continued support of the Magpies, always on the gate at home games, often one of only a few to travel with the lads to Away matches. When asked he would make an unbelievable cup of tea in the tea hut. Max had a passion for the town not just the club, often seen cleaning the train station in the middle of the night, after receiving permission from Railtrack to go on the tracks.
Our thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.
